International Women’s Day Programme

international womens dayDisha Social Organization and Jagori Rural Himachal Pradesh celebrated International Women’s Day in Saharanpur city on March 8, 2017. A workshop on the issues of women equality and rights and rally were organised on this occasion.

On this occasion Disha Director KN Tiwari addressed the gathering to apprise it with history of International Women’s Day. He said Disha was celebrating it since 1985. Jagroi Rural Himachal Pradesh representative Chandrakanta gave information about one billion rising to the women. This programme was being run in 207 countries of the world and 18 States of India. Its objective is to prevent increasing violence on women and promote environmental conservation, peace, equality and justice.

Nisha from Jagori Rural Himachal Pradesh, Tasneem, Aaroh Coordinator, Shahin Praveen, Suresho Saini, P Ram, Rekha Sharma, Kuldeep Bisht, Neelam, Kunta, Shakuntala, Sanjida, Bano, Rajjo, Saroj, etc., also spoke on the occasion.

After this the gathering marched in the shape of a rally carrying placards and banner and raising slogans to the collectorate through clock tower crossing and court road. On reaching the collectorate Tasneem read out 20 point charter of demands addressed to the Prime Minister and Chief Minister before the audience. It was handed over to the City Magistrate.
