Training of ALMC and Steering Committee Leaders
One day training of leaders of Area Level Morcha Committees and Steering Committees was held at the Training Centre on January 23, 2018. A total of 45 people participated in the training.
Senior worker of the organisation Riyasat Ali shared history and struggle of Disha to fulfil its vision and mission and achievements of successive years. He shared that with consistent efforts of Disha and Morcha Committees, women of villages in which Disha is working were quite capable in addressing their issues. He said that they were well informed about laws and acts formed against violence against women.
Morcha convenor Arun Kumar said that since 1989, morchas were consistently working for uplift of poor, Dalits, marginalised and minorities. Morcha committees were actively working for wellbeing of deprived communities. Morcha committees regularly disseminated information on various social issues and were playing great role in linking up Disha with village inhabitants.
Informing about ALMCs, programme coordinator Tasneem said we have divided our working area into four parts and accordingly we have included 25 village level committees in an ALMC. This is a big organisation, which can play an active role in the development villages. She told about the structure of ALMC. In the end members’ steering committee were elected for the coming two years.
