Interface Meeting under Aaroh Campaign

An interface meeting for women farmers was held at the Training Centre for women farmers on January 28, 2017, under Aaroh campaign. In all 141 women farmers participated. The programme began with revolutionary songs composed for the campaign.

Programme Coordinator of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Saharanpur, Dr Satya Prakash, and Deputy Project Director of Krishi Prasar Bhawan, Saharanpur, Mr Yashvir Singh, were the chief guests. They listened to the problems of the women and gave solution to their problems.

Dr Satya Prakash gave information on seed and soil treatment, methods of vegetable cultivation, pesticides, seed germination and growth. He informed that with the efforts of you all, Woman Farmer Day will be celebrated on 15 October all over the country. He said that Aaroh campaign was a praiseworthy step.

He also informed that a group of 25-30 women farmers could visit Krishi Vigyan Kendra once in a month. On that day all the scientists will be present and provide solution of any problem encountered in agricultural operations, including technical information, prevention related information, quick resolution of problems, information regarding women farmers. He gave names and mobile nos. of eight scientists and said the farmers could approach them according to the problem.

Mr Yashvir Singh gave information on schemes like Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme, Farmers’ Day, Rebate on Agricultural Tools and Farmers’ Registration. He also gave information that Farmers’ Day was observed every third Wednesday of each month, in which the District Magistrate himself sits. One can raise any agriculture related problem there.

Disha Director KN Tiwari and Regional Coordinator of Aaroh Campaign Tasneem gave information about Aaroh campaign. Many farmers raised their problems and sought solution of the problems from the scientists present.
