Art Competition at Nehru Inter College

An art competition was organised on the issue of violence against women and gender equality for students in Nehru Inter College, Topri, on November 14, 2017. Around 24 students of classes 9, 10, 11 and 12 participated in this competition. Through these competitions students depicted violence and inequality against women shown in their paintings. Ekta Devi of class 12, Fareen of class 12 and Pooja of class 11 secured first, second and third position respectively.

Suresho Saini, associate coordinator of legal aid programme, said that since birth girls faced lots of discrimination in all aspects of life. She asked youths to come forward and raise voice against violence against women.

College principal Shayamlal and teachers like Sunil Kumar Dhiman, Santosh Kumar Yadav, Arti Gupta, Kallu Ram and Priti Gupta appreciated the work of Disha team and expressed their thoughts on the issue of violence against women.

On this occasion, the students who won the competition were awarded first, second and third prizes, and all the participants were given consolation prizes. Shameem, associate coordinator of legal aid programme, concluded the programme by thanking all the students and teachers.
