Udari Flood Victims Get Relief

udari-flood-victims-get-reliefNearly 175 flood victims in Udari village, which is near Dhountri village in Dunda tehsil of Uttarkashi district in Uttarakhand, were provided relief material on Sunday, July 14. Each family got a packet, each of which contained 10 kg rice, 8 kg wheat flour, 3 kg pulses, 3 kg sugar, milk powder, tea leaves, condiments, cooking oil, ready to eat snacks like biscuits, clothes, blankets, etc.

We hope that the relief material will last for a period ranging from 20-30 days depending on family size.

A team of Disha is at present busy surveying villages in Dhanari patti of Dunda tehsil. Villages in this patti also bore onslaught of floods. But somehow, the news of devastation failed to come out of these villages.

On the other hand, road link to Didsari village, half of which has been wiped out, is yet to be restored. The relief material for this village is ready and will be sent off as soon as road link is restored.

Meanwhile, electricity, phone and internet services are yet to be restored in the area. In view of this we are not able to post more details, including photographs. Even the above information is based on telephonic conversation we could have with our team. On return of the team we shall post more details.
