Exposure Visit of Jagori Team

exposure vision of jagori teamA 10-member team from Jagori, New Delhi, visited Disha Social Organization on November 10 and 11, 2014, to learn working of the Women Cell.Jagori is a national level organisation working in New Delhi on women violence issue. The team leader Sunita Dhar said that working of Disha’s Women Cell was always appreciated at Jagori and it was high time that Jagori learnt from Disha’s experience.

Disha’s director and staff members welcomed the visiting team of Jagori. After welcome, the visiting team went to the Women Cell office, where the Women Cell’s members and Disha’s staff introduced visiting team with the documentation process, how the cases were registered and how fact finding of cases was done. In the next step, the visitors witnessed proceeding of Nari Adalat (Women Court), which is organised every month to solve the cases of violence against women registered with the Women Cell.

Next day the team visited Suchela Deva village where they studied a previously solved out case of violence lodged by Sunita against her husband Vijaypal at Disha's Women Court. During interaction, Sunita shared her case and experience with the Women Cell. Summing up she said: “Toady I am very happy with the decision taken by Women Court of Disha on the basis of mutual consent of me and my husband”.

Before departing for Delhi, Sunita Dhar and entire visiting team paid their heartiest thanks for providing all important information about legal cell proceedings to solve the cases of violence against women.
