Training of Mahila Shakti Manch Leaders
One day capacity building training of Mahila Shakti Manch leaders was organised on February 23, 2015, at Disha office in Sahaspur, Dehradun, India. A total of 35 leaders of 18 villages took part in the training programme. Since all the leaders could not be covered in this training another training for the remaining leaders was organised on March 17, 2015. A total of 35 leaders of 14 villages took part in this training.
- Members of Mahila Shakti Manch, Rampur village, Sahaspur block made toilets of 10 poor women of the village under the Drinking Water and Clean India Mission.
- Members of Mahila Shakti Manch, Jamanpur village, Sahaspur block staged dharna in the local school for three days seeking cleanliness in and around the school.
- Women of Mahila Shakti Manch of Sabhawala village organized big meeting in their village and discussed the issue of ration cards, below poverty Line (BPL) cards, midday meal scheme of Aanganwadi and violence against women.
- Women of Mahila Shakti Manch Singhaniwalavillage raised awareness among the villagers to actively take part in the working of Gram Panchayats. They have also decided to take the action on cleanliness (Clean Indian Mission), education and ration from Public Distribution System (PDS).
