Four days induction workshop of fellows on Constitutional Valueswas organised at the Training Centre from 2 to 5 August 2023. Noted Constitutional Researcher Dileep Yashvardhan was the main resource person. Thirty-five people, including 24 fellows, five mentors and six Disha staff members, participated in the workshop.

The induction workshop was organised to kickstart the project to promote Constitutional values among the people with the support of Azim Premji Philanthropic Initiative.

Project coordinator Kritika Yadav welcomed the participants and thanked them for giving their valuable time. She briefed the participants objectives, agenda and schedule of the workshop. Director KN Tiwari gave an introduction of the organisation. He covered the organisation’s history and its major programmes and activities. Programme coordinator Shachindra Sharma gave a presentation on Disha’s work through Constitutional lens.

The resource person began with the Preamble of the Constitution and went on to Fundamental Rights, Directive Principles of State Policy and Fundamental Duties. He discussed the precautions that needed to be taken while working on Constitutional values.

During the workshop, the fellows prepared action plans for the next three months with the assistance of their mentors. The mentors told the fellows that they should include mutual brotherhood, equality, unity, secularism and fraternity in their work. The fellows and mentors had a discussion on their roles and responsibilities. They decided that the mentors would meet the fellows twice a year face to face and see their work. They will remain in touch with through phone and WhatsApp group.
